Scoring on the Course FILE: OS.HLP
Keeping track of how you perform is not that large of a task when
using DBK. The amount of time spent writing down 4 numbers per hole
does not take more than a few seconds more than just writing down
your gross.
Gross - We all know this one. Total strokes. No gimmies, No
Mulligans.
Putts - Number of times the putter moved the ball. Even if you are
off the green but you elect to putt, this is consided a putt
stroke.
Fairways - Think this isn't an important stat? Do you remember the
87 US Open? Clearwater shot 64 because he was able to keep the
ball in play - because he was hitting fairways.
This stat is marked with a 0 or a 1. You score 1 point if your tee
shot lands in the fairway. Not close to the fairway but in it.
There are no fairway points awarded on par 3's.
Regulation - This measures the approach accuracy. If you're on in
1 for par 3's, 2 for par 4's and 3 for par 5's you score a
regulation point. If you're a newcomer to the sport, use this stat
for your last full iron to the green.
